Getting there
Halcyon Isle
An island built for players' homes, in the sea north of Seers' Village. Every home is a real place on the map, so anyone can walk up to an open door.
Halcyon Isle is a stop on the city Void Rift network. Use the rift at Edgeville, Varrock, Falador, Ardougne or the Void Enclave and pick Halcyon Isle. The island's own rift takes you back to any of them.
From Lumbridge, the rowboat moored on the River Lum, just north of the Lumbridge spawn, rows you over for free: choose Sail, then Halcyon Isle. It doesn't come back, so leave by the island's rift.
Once you own a home, your hearthstone takes you straight to it from anywhere, then needs a ten-minute rest. Lost it? The Steward hands you another.
Your first visit plays the island's chime and suggests turning sound on. Construction has its own calm, hand-made sounds: saws, hammers, doors, the kiln, and a singing bowl when you level up.
- The Rift sits east of the Town Square, where you arrive.
- The Town Hall, north of the square, has the Steward and a bank chest.
- Carpenter's Yard, beside the Rift, has the sawmill bench, the Sawyer, a workbench, the kiln and the commission board.
- There's also a market, an orchard, a Zen Garden, a harbour and a lighthouse to explore.

The Steward
Your home
Every home on the island is already built. You buy one outright and make it yours inside and in its garden.
| Home | On the island | Price | Level | Pieces | Walls |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cottage | 24 | 125,000 | 1 | 120 | 40 |
| Townhouse, two floors | 12 | 1,000,000 | 25 | 200 | 60 |
| Manor, two floors | 6 | 4,000,000 | 50 | 320 | 90 |
| Villa, two floors | 4 | 12,500,000 | 70 | 440 | 120 |
- Find one you like.Empty homes have a for-sale sign by the path. Read it for the size, price and level.
- Talk to the Steward. The Steward, in the Town Hall, lists every size with the homes still free.
- Pay from your pack. The deed is yours, and a hearthstone settles into your pack. Use it and pick Go home from anywhere.
- Set your front door.Private, friends only, or open to everyone. Ask the Steward about your home, or type
::con access open.

You can own one home per account. The Steward can also move you to another home, taking your old deed back at its full price against the new one and packing every piece into storage. Moving to a smaller home costs nothing and pays nothing back. Stored pieces are rebuilt for free in your next home, with no materials and no XP. If you're away for 60 days, your home goes back on sale and everything in it is stored, so nothing is ever lost.
Building
Build mode
Step inside your home or garden and press Build at the top right of the screen.
- Pick a piece. The panel lists every piece with its level and XP. Materials show what you carry against what you need, green when you have enough. Tabs at the top filter by room.
- Aim.A see-through ghost follows your mouse. Green means it fits; red means it doesn't, and hovering tells you why.
- Click to build. The materials leave your pack and the piece appears. It stays in your hand, so you can keep placing.
- Turn it.Press R while holding a piece. Esc puts it down.
- Change your mind.Right-click a placed piece to Move, Rotate or Remove it. Removing gives nothing back.

Building rules
- Indoors, garden or anywhere. Each piece says where it goes. Beds stay indoors; flower beds stay outside.
- Walls, fences, doors and windows sit on the edge between two tiles of your home.
- Keep a way through. The doorway, stair landings and paths stay clear, and every tile must stay reachable.
- Upstairs counts. Townhouses, manors and villas have a second floor. Climb the stairs and keep building.
- Each home has a budget of pieces and walls by size (see the table above).
- Tools. Most pieces need a hammer and saw in your pack. The Sawyer sells saws for 25 coins.
You can also build by typing: ::con build opens build mode, and ::con lists the rest.
Every skill helps
Materials
Start building: Construction materials, recipes, homes and building activities are now available. Take logs and coins to the Lumbridge sawmill or Halcyon Isle’s Carpenter’s Yard, then use the benches, anvil and kiln to make what your plans need.
Furniture is built from planks, fittings, clay, glass, cloth and more. Each comes from another skill.
| Material | Made from | Where | Skill |
|---|---|---|---|
| Logs | Sawmill bench (free, slow) or the Sawyer (50 to 2,000 coins a plank), on the island or in Lumbridge. Or cast Plank Make. | Construction 1, 15, 30, 45, 60 and 75 at the bench and for the spell. Plank Make needs Magic 60. | |
| One bar | Any anvil: use a bar on it and open the Construction tab | Smithing 15, 30, 50, 70, 85 and 90 | |
| Gold bar | Any anvil | Smithing 50 | |
| Soft clay | Workbench | Crafting 5 and 15 | |
| Unfired tile, clay brick | Kiln, burning logs you carry | Firemaking 10 and 25 | |
| Molten glass and a glassblowing pipe | Workbench | Crafting 20 | |
| 4 balls of wool; 2 bolts, red dye and a needle | Workbench | Crafting 12 and 40 | |
| Oak plank and a knife | Workbench | Fletching 35 | |
| Marrentill and 5 arrow shafts | Workbench | Herblaw 12 |

Planks in Lumbridge
Lumbridge has its own sawmill, in a small building behind the general store. It has a sawmill bench and a Sawyer, just like Carpenter's Yard, so you can chop the trees nearby and saw them on the spot.
Plank Make
At Magic 60, cast Plank Make on a log and it shapes the whole stack into planks, one a tick. Each plank costs 1 nature rune and 2 earth runes (an earth staff covers the earth) and gives Magic XP. The wood needs the same Construction level as at the bench.

Each log you burn in the kiln pays its usual Firemaking XP, and leftover heat carries over to your next firing. Prices match their ingredients, so making materials never creates coins. The old Tile item finally has a use.
Levels 1 to 99
Training, the efficient way
A piece's XP is the sum of what goes into it. The best training builds big pieces, takes them down, and builds them again.
- Every material has a fixed XP. A plank is worth 30, an oak plank 60, willow 100, maple 160, yew 260 and magic 400. Fittings, cloth and the rest add their own.
- Bigger pieces are faster. The same planks give the same XP in any piece, but a big piece takes one click instead of several.
- Build, remove, repeat. You can build once per game tick. Removing gives nothing back, so carry materials for several builds.
- Bonuses stack. Voidscape's 1.5x skilling bonus applies, rested XP applies, and burning incense at home adds 5% for ten minutes.
- Bank at home. At level 90 a bank chest in your home cuts every trip to a few seconds.
The fastest route
The biggest piece you can build at each level, and how many builds take you to the next row with the 1.5x bonus. Rested XP and incense make it shorter.
| Levels | Build | XP each | Builds | Materials for the row |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1–2 | Picket fence | 65 (98 with the bonus) | 1 | 2 planks, 1 nail |
| 2–3 | Wooden chair | 70 (105 with the bonus) | 1 | 2 planks, 2 nails |
| 3–7 | Small table | 100 (150 with the bonus) | 4 | 12 planks, 8 nails |
| 7–9 | Long bench | 135 (202 with the bonus) | 2 | 8 planks, 6 nails |
| 9–11 | Wooden door | 140 (210 with the bonus) | 2 | 6 planks, 4 nails, 2 iron fittings |
| 11–17 | Simple bed | 175 (262 with the bonus) | 7 | 28 planks, 21 nails, 7 bolts of cloth |
| 17–18 | Kitchen range | 220 (330 with the bonus) | 2 | 8 bricks, 4 iron fittings, 2 oak planks |
| 18–23 | Oak table | 320 (480 with the bonus) | 6 | 30 oak planks, 24 nails |
| 23–29 | Dining table | 420 (630 with the bonus) | 10 | 60 oak planks, 40 nails, 10 bolts of cloth |
| 29–31 | Grand bed | 500 (750 with the bonus) | 4 | 24 oak planks, 16 nails, 8 bolts of cloth, 4 silk |
| 31–33 | Altar | 570 (855 with the bonus) | 4 | 16 willow planks, 4 carved panels, 8 nails, 4 silk |
| 33–41 | Banquet table | 710 (1,065 with the bonus) | 22 | 132 willow planks, 132 nails, 44 iron fittings |
| 41–50 | Wardrobe | 740 (1,110 with the bonus) | 55 | 275 willow planks, 110 steel fittings, 55 carved panels |
| 50–60 | Four-poster bed | 1,260 (1,890 with the bonus) | 92 | 552 maple planks, 276 bolts of cloth, 184 silk, 92 mithril fittings |
| 60–63 | Gilded throne | 1,420 (2,130 with the bonus) | 45 | 180 yew planks, 90 gold leaf, 90 bolts of cloth |
| 63–64 | Yew wardrobe | 1,580 (2,370 with the bonus) | 17 | 85 yew planks, 17 adamant fittings, 17 carved panels |
| 64–68 | Yew dining table | 1,620 (2,430 with the bonus) | 82 | 492 yew planks, 328 nails, 82 bolts of cloth |
| 68–80 | Yew four-poster bed | 1,920 (2,880 with the bonus) | 480 | 2,880 yew planks, 1,440 bolts of cloth, 960 silk, 480 adamant fittings |
| 80–82 | Magic wardrobe | 2,420 (3,630 with the bonus) | 120 | 600 magic planks, 120 rune fittings, 120 carved panels |
| 82–86 | Magic dining table | 2,460 (3,690 with the bonus) | 319 | 1,914 magic planks, 1,276 nails, 319 bolts of cloth |
| 86–90 | Magic four-poster bed | 2,900 (4,350 with the bonus) | 402 | 2,412 magic planks, 1,206 bolts of cloth, 804 silk, 402 rune fittings |
| 90–99 | Bank chest | 3,400 (5,100 with the bonus) | 1,508 | 6,032 magic planks, 6,032 rune fittings, 6,032 gold leaf |
Bank chests give the most XP per build from 90, but they eat rune fittings and gold leaf. Magic four-poster beds cost less per XP if you'd rather go easier on your bank. Sawing your own planks at the sawmill bench saves the Sawyer's fees.
No home needed
Commissions
The islanders need furniture too. Their orders are pinned to the board in Carpenter's Yard.
- Read the board. It offers three orders sized to your level.
- Take one.A commission note goes in your pack. Read it any time to see the order.
- Bring the materials.Build the pieces right at the board, for the usual XP.
- Get paid.Finishing pays 2 coins for every base XP, plus a tenth more XP as thanks.

Show it off
Showroom
Display pieces hold one real item each. Use an item on a display piece to put it on show: armour stands wear the armour, cape racks hang the cape, and pedestals and cases hold anything.
| Piece | Level | Holds |
|---|---|---|
| Display pedestal | 47 | Any item |
| Armour stand | 48 | Anything you can wear except a cape |
| Display case | 52 | Any item |
| Cape rack | 70 | Capes |
| Adamant armour stand | 70 | Anything you can wear except a cape |
| Gilded display case | 74 | Any item |
| Rune armour stand | 84 | Anything you can wear except a cape |
| Dragon armour stand | 95 | Anything you can wear except a cape |

Coins, bank notes and items you're wearing can't go on display. A display piece holding an item can't be taken apart until the item comes off. If you move home or your home is reclaimed, displayed items go to storage, and the Steward hands them back.
Worth coming home to

| Simple bed, grand bed | 11, 29 | Rest, like any bed |
| Kitchen range, hearth | 17, 24 | Cook on them |
| Spinning wheel | 25 | Spin wool and flax |
| Potter's wheel, pottery oven | 28, 34 | Shape and fire clay |
| Altar | 31 | Recharge your Prayer |
| Lectern | 44 | A guestbook of your recent visitors |
| Anvil, furnace | 45, 49 | Smith and smelt, including fittings |

| Restoration pool | 66 | Restores lowered stats and cures poison. Visitors may drink. |
| Rift shard | 85 | Takes you to any city Void Rift |
| Bank chest | 90 | Opens your bank |

Incense sticks, made at the workbench from marrentill, burn for ten minutes when you light them at home with a tinderbox. While one burns, your Construction XP there is 5% higher.

Quick answers
- Can other players come in?
- Only if you let them. Set your door to private, friends or open. Visitors can look around and drink from your pool, but they can't build or take anything.
- Can I build anywhere else?
- No. You build in your own home and garden on Halcyon Isle. Commissions let you train at the board without a home.
- Do I get materials back when I remove a piece?
- No. Removing a piece gives nothing back. Moving home is different: the Steward packs everything and you rebuild it for free.
- What happens if I stop playing?
- After 60 days away your home goes back on sale. Every piece and every displayed item is stored, and you can rebuild it all in your next home.
- Can I own two homes?
- No, one per account. The Steward can move you to a bigger or smaller one.
- Is there a reward at 99?
- The Master Builder title unlocks at level 99. The Construction cape is coming with the new skill cape artwork.
