This update is now live in game.

Deeper into the Undercrypt

Enter the Skull Crypt east of Edgeville at (193,443), then follow the passage south into the Undercrypt. You need 45 Slayer to enter. The expanded dungeon has connected rooms, labelled map locations and a clear route back to the ladder.

Six new creatures fill the ordinary rooms. Their Slayer requirement applies even when you are not on a task. The combat requirement below is for receiving their assignment.

The archers and mages use their respective combat styles. Choose your protection prayer and equipment for the room you are entering. The world map now shows the deeper rooms and their creature names.

Bone dragons and the Bone shield

Two Bone dragons wait in a separate chamber beyond the Undercrypt. You need 95 Slayer to fight them and 110 combat to receive their task from Vexis. They use melee and dragonfire, so bring dragonfire protection.

Each Bone dragon drops one Dragon bones, alongside its normal loot roll. Its table includes runes, arrows, gems, herbs, bars and occasional Rune equipment.

The new Bone shield has the same combat stats as a Rune kite shield: 40 Defence to equip and 46 armour. It can be traded, noted and banked. It has no dragonfire protection.

  • Bone golems have a 1 in 1,024 chance to drop it.
  • Bone dragons have a 1 in 256 chance to drop it.
  • The shield chance is the same on and off task and is separate from normal loot.
  • The Bone shield has its own Collection Log entry in the Slayer tier.

Three new Wilderness targets

Opt into Wilderness assignments to add these families to your eligible task pool. You can also fight them off task once you meet their Slayer requirement. Normal Wilderness risk applies.

Ash wolf

Ash wolf

Slayer 50 · Task combat 65

Packs in Wilderness levels 19 and 24; melee.

Dark hunter

Dark hunter

Slayer 68 · Task combat 80

Camps in Wilderness level 35; bow attacks. Protect from Missiles helps.

Ash demon

Ash demon

Slayer 85 · Task combat 100

Deep Wilderness level 50; strong melee.

These camps drop mixed existing supplies, runes, gems and equipment. They do not require a new key or introduce another currency. Look for their names on the world map.

More useful Slayer assignments

  • Vexis can now offer moss giants and ogres in the ordinary assignment pool, giving eligible players more variety.
  • Two extra desert wolves and two extra grey wolves have been added to their existing camps.
  • Jungle wolf assignments now respect the 50 Woodcutting access requirement.
  • Black unicorn directions point hunters west to the correct camp.
  • Slayer assignment controls and their explanations are clearer.
  • Blast-spell kills now correctly count for eligible NPC kill credit, including Slayer tasks.

Six bank loadouts and a tidier bank

The bank now has six saved loadouts. Give each one a name, inspect its saved inventory and equipment, then load the setup you need. Your existing three setups are retained.

Bank pages also show representative item sprites, making it easier to recognise the page you want.

Open Arrange to preview grouping your bank into Equipment, Food, Drinks and Other. Check the proposed order, then choose Apply or Cancel. Items keep their order within each group. Nothing moves until you apply the preview; item quantities and placeholders are preserved. If you change the bank while a preview is open, make a fresh preview before applying it.

Manual Off, Swap and Insert arrangement modes are still available.

Vote for the next hourly event

At 59 minutes past each hour, an eligible player can choose from four groups during a 60-second vote:

The four hourly voting groups, with the vitals HUD hidden

GroupEvents in the group
Flats99s, 38s, 99s 2v2 and 38s 2v2
StakingStake King 61 and 82
RoyaleRoyale
SurvivalSurvivor and Void Rush

At least four unique IP addresses across the whole ballot must vote. The winning group does not need four votes of its own. You can change your vote until time runs out; only one character per IP can vote.

A tie between leading groups is settled randomly. The game then randomly picks an eligible event from the winning group. The exact event opened last time is left out of the next ballot; other events in its group can still be chosen. A group with no available event is disabled.

Without enough voters, no hourly event opens. Castle King and Mage Battles are not in the ballot. The special Mage 38 tournament is also separate from it.

Signups begin after the result: four minutes for Stake King, ten for Royale, and five for Flats, Survivor and Void Rush. Use ::event join to join the selected event.

The panel stays out of the Wilderness and temporarily hides the vitals HUD while it is visible. Vitals return when you close it. Use ::event hide and ::event show to hide or restore the panel.

A clearer, longer-lasting Royale

Royale now uses anonymous match names on its game displays. Real account identity is still retained for reports and moderation.

Eliminated players can Watch, move to the Next player, or Leave the observation view after their normal character state has been restored. Watching does not put that restored equipment back into the fight.

  • Entrants receive usable ranged and magic supplies, including matching ammunition and rune bundles.
  • Crates deliver the full amount of each authored reward.
  • A credited elimination heals the killer to full Hits and releases the defeated entrant's Royale equipment and supplies as loot.
  • The status box is smaller, and compact headers stay clear of update notices.
  • The safe-zone edge is easier to distinguish from the playable area.
  • Rounds continue past the old time limit. Late sudden death makes the whole arena dangerous until one survivor remains.
  • Event loot remains available through the longer round.

Opened Royale, Flats and Castle King events no longer depend on the host staying logged in. Hourly Royale still starts through its automatic signup timer; manually hosted Royale retains its normal host controls.

Watch Poker and keep the conversation going

Choose Watch at a Poker cabinet to follow a public table without taking a seat or paying a buy-in. Other players' private cards stay private until the game reveals them normally.

Watching a real public Poker hand with private cards concealed and chat visible
Watching a real public Poker hand with private cards concealed and chat visible

Poker now leaves the normal chat controls usable. You can follow chat, type, change filters and scroll back while the table is open. Cards and the six seats are easier to read on smaller screens, and the cash-out action is clearer.

Accepted Poker actions now count as activity, so actively playing at a stationary table does not trigger the standing-still logout. Simply refreshing or watching does not keep an otherwise idle session alive.

Clubs and spades have clearer, distinct symbols.

A Fire Blast-only Flats tournament

Hosts can open the separate Mage 38 format. Everyone receives temporary combat level 38 with 69 Magic, a fire staff and wizard equipment. Each round provides 400 Air runes, 100 Death runes and 22 swordfish: enough runes for 100 Fire Blasts while the staff is equipped.

Only Fire Blast against your assigned opponent is allowed. Melee and other spells are blocked. The normal bracket, round restocking, rewards and character restoration apply. Casting results are easier to read on small screens.

This is a manually hosted format, not an hourly voting option.

Staffs, supplies and combat

Skull StaffBattlestaff of Natural FireSuper combat potion
  • The Skull Staff gives a 20% magic damage bonus against eligible task NPCs, or 10% against other NPCs. It does not add damage against players. Its existing task-kill healing remains.
  • The Battlestaff of Natural Fire now correctly satisfies its supported spell requirements.
  • Nature Staff alchemy batches show how many casts actually succeeded.
  • Ordinary food actions now use a 300 ms delay.
  • Quick-drink consistently uses the lowest-dose potion in the selected family.
  • Dragon Woodcutting Fury attempts are spaced three minutes apart, including an unsuccessful attempt.
  • After an unsafe PvP death in the Wilderness, wait 30 seconds before taking a Void Rift destination back into the Wilderness. Safe destinations remain available.
  • Shared duel combat has been adjusted to give fights more room for equipment and combat-mode choices. The change applies to ordinary duels and the relevant hosted duel formats.
  • After Druidic Ritual, at 80 Herblaw, carry one full, unnoted three-dose Super attack, Super strength and Super defence potion. Use one on another to make a three-dose Super combat potion, gain 100 base Herblaw XP and receive two empty vials. Each dose gives the three ordinary super boosts.

Getting around and everyday fixes

  • Mounted courses award more Agility XP for completing a full lap: 5,500 base XP for Lowland gallop, 6,500 for Highland ride and 6,000 for Summit run, plus their existing fence XP. Requirements remain 70 Agility and Horse tier, 80 and Unicorn tier, and 90 and Void-steed tier, respectively. Coins and other XP bonuses are unchanged; actual training rates depend on your mount, falls and boosts.
  • Banking your last carried steed now dismounts you properly.
  • Mounted movement remains visible to other players instead of appearing to slide.
  • The Sparrow can be controlled with touch inputs.
  • Existing camera views are now available through the shared Settings menu.
  • Hazelmere's route is accessible again, with the surrounding natural terrain preserved.
  • Nearby walking routes are preferred over unnecessary waypoint detours.
  • Local roaming stays clear of the Circuit rope.
  • There is more room to escape the guardian in the skilling pocket.
  • Marrow Wraiths can roam across their full combat shore instead of crowding one spot.
  • Ordinary Chaos Druids can also drop Fire runes without replacing their existing loot outcomes.
  • Ordinary webs open on the first accepted cutting attempt.
  • The existing Makeover Mage service is now also available in Edgeville at (225,454), with its usual 3,000-coin price.
  • Social-list Remove controls line up with the visible rows.
  • Typing punctuation in the web client no longer changes navigation state.
  • World-map search accepts copied surface coordinates.
  • First-mount and coin-making guidance is clearer.
  • Rested XP guidance explains the required 30 uninterrupted minutes offline. Double XP guidance explains that it doubles the server base rate; other boosts apply separately.
  • Rapid Dueling Chips shortcuts preserve the equipment change you selected.

Collection and community rewards

The Collector accepts noted donations at the base item's value. Coins are still not accepted.

The Rune spear moves to the later Voidwalker Collection Log tier. Previously delivered completion rewards are kept. The new Bone shield belongs to the Slayer tier.

Duel Masters

Meet the Arena Master beside Edgeville bank, choose a legal combat-61 build, and bring your own melee equipment and combat potions for the qualification ladder. The free switching guide teaches combat modes and equipment changes before you pay for an attempt.

The Tactician250,000 coinsThe Tactician cosmetic title
The Grand Master500,000 coinsPermanent access to an arena-only staking kit

Fees are spent whether you win or lose. Winning unlocks the next opponent, with no coin payout. Cleared masters cannot be repeated; losing allows another paid attempt. A loss-free run costs 800,000 coins. Titles are unlocked without automatically replacing the title you wear.

The fights allow preparation and potions but no food, prayer, projectiles or retreat. Each master has different equipment-switching and combat-mode behaviour.

Clearing the Grand Master unlocks eleven pieces of loaned gear for the permanent player-dueling arena. You must earn this kit first; qualification fights do not loan it to you. The kit stays in the arena. Bring owned potions or buy player-listed supplies at the arena chest.

Your first permanent arena build is free to save; changing it costs 250,000 coins. Player challenges use the familiar duel offer and confirmation screens for free practice or owned-item stakes. These matches are unranked.
