What “1 in 200” really means

A drop rate is a promise about averages, and averages hide almost everything you actually experience.

    Halfway house

    139

Half of all hunters have one by flip 139, sooner than the rate itself. Most people beat the number on the wiki.

    At exactly the drop rate

    63%

Flipping 200 times does not earn you the drop. Roughly 37 hunters in every 100 walk past that mark with nothing.

    The long tail

    599

1 in 20 hunters is still empty-handed here, about the rate. That player is not cursed and the server is not broken.

Chance you’d have one by now

The line never touches 100%. There is no flip that guarantees it.

    A thousand hunters, one coin

Send 1,000 players after the same drop and count how long each one took. Nobody is playing a different game. This is the whole spread.

Each bar is how many of them found it in that stretch, measured in multiples of the drop rate.

Every rate on this page is a real Voidscape number, and the coin is a fair one: the same Math.random() for everybody, running in your own browser, with nothing to sell you.
